SATISFACTORY FLAX-GRADING Satisfactory Flax-Grading Returns.— Figures for the hemp graded at the port of Auckland for the month of July, 1927, show a considerable increase over the corresponding period for last year. Tow.—loo bales first grade; 119 bales second grade; 82 bales third grade; 18 bales condemned; total. 319 (228). Stripper Slips.—B bales second grade, one condemned; total, 9 (8). Stripper Tow. grade; 26 bales third grade; one condemned; total, 72 (nil).
