BAY OF PLENTY J.C. SOUND FINANCIAL POSITION “RACE TRACK A PICTURE” The annual meeting of the Bay o*' ■ Plenty Jockey Club was held on FriI day, when the president. Mr. ABrown, presided over a good attend ance of members. ■ The chairman and several member: I made feeling reference to the deatk |of Mr. C. F. Mark and a motion <>; j sympathy with his relatives was carried. The president's report stated th.r the last meeting was the best held h. r the club. The finances were healthy there being a credit balance of £9S; 4s 4d. Many improvements had beet made to the grounds, the race tract being a picture. I A statement of accounts was read land adopted. Sharp; handicappcr. Air. W. V. Russell, starter, Air. C. O'Connor; clerk of th scales, Air. C. H. Jordan; clerk of the course. Air. A. W. Snodgrass; timekeeper, Air. R. Randle; hon. surgeons. Drs. J. B. AlcDiarmid and T. Stuart: hon. treasurer. Air. J. Tanner; committee. Alessrs. E. L. Broad. J. G. Green. J. AI. Darragh, J. A. Guineas. S. Darragh, H. T. Davern, A. Davern, A. J_ Sladden, B. Dive. A. Tutchen. T. Moneur and R. Renshaw; judicial committee, Alessrs. C. E. Macmillan. A. Brown. A. E. Newsham. E. L. Broad and N_ Ferguson. SUPPORT OF GAMING BILL On the motion of All*. E. L. Broad the following resolution was carried "That the Prime Alinister, lion. J. CL Coates, and Alessrs. C. E. Macmillan. Tauranga, and F. F. Hockley, Rotormc. be asked to support the Gaming Amendment Bill and also that Sir George. Hunter be congratulated or introducing the Bill and expressing hope that Parliament will pass the measure.” The question of a totalisator permit for a second day’s meeting was left in the hands of the president and Air. Broad. The secretary outlines the new work being done by way of improving the courses. ADDINGTON FIXTURE OPENING ON SATURDAY ACCEPTANCES CLOSE TO. MORROW Acceptances for all events on the New Zealand Aletropolitan Club’s opening day card close with the secretary, Mr. A. I. Rattray, to-morrow at noon. Indications point to a liberal response from owners for the fixture, which opens at Addington on Saturday.
