“MISS N.Z.” FINALISTS ARRIVE AT OAMARU
ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION {Special to THE SUH.) OAMARU, To-diy. nPHE “Miss New Zealand” finalists received an enthusiastic welcome on their arrival at Oamaru from Dunedin. A fleet of decorated cars met them, and a record audience at the Opera House last evening gave them a splendid reception. The first night’s voting has not affected the relative positions: First: Miss Dale Austen ("Miss Otago”). Second: Miss Vera Hodge (Maid of Honour to “Miss Otago”). Third: Miss Morgie Cameron (Maid of Honour to “Miss Southland”). Fourth: Miss Winnie Tonkinson (“Miss Southland”). Fifth: Miss Hazel Spiers (“Miss Wellington”). Sixth: Miss Billie Andreasson (“Miss Auckland”). Seventh: Miss Hildred Graham (Maid of Honour- to “Miss Auckland”). Eighth: Miss Leon McCall (“Miss Canterbury”). Ninth: Miss Pat. Smidt (Maid of Honour to “Miss Wellington”). Tenth: Miss Jane Kinsey (Maid of Honour to "Miss Canterbury").
