A GENEROUS THOUGHT
From Fitzie Morris, who won the last competition with her clever story, “Enter Peter,” comes the following letter: Dear Dawn Lady,—l was very glad when I saw the competition results on Saturday. Firstly because Joan is staying with us just now and I saw her do her drawing myself; secondly because Jean has won the poetry section—l loved her little poem—and thirdly because success is always an inspiration. Do you know, Dawn Lady, that I began my story about nine o’clock on Saturday morning? We had an exam the day before, so that was really the first chance I had. As for the prize, I haven’t nearly finished my Swinburne yet and I was given a beautiful book of poems of R.L.S. a few days ago, and I think that if you would get a story book for Ward 23 with the money, it may be welcome there, don't you? Looking forward already to the next competitions, I am, your ever faithful Sunbeam, FITZIE MORRIS.
