SCOTLAND’S STORY
ADDRESS BY REV. J. BARR Scotland’s story, as poets and singers have depicted it, was recounted by the Rev. James Barr, M.P., the noted Scottish lecturer, in the Remuera Public Library last evening. From the rich treasure-house of Scottish song the speaker drew the history of the land, and, in his telling way, recited the national poems that have aver been the pride of Scots. Taking a special line, Mr. Barr went into the history of religion and told the story of the Church of Scotland. Scottish scenery was brought vividly back to many in the audience by a series of slides showing the richness of the land in its natural beauty and the fine old abbeys and castles that remain from past centuries. The large audience had a preponderance of Scots as could easily be judged from the instant contact between the speaker and his hearers. Enthusiasm greeted national poems and songs thnt were given-
