PRINCE EDWARD

“A LITTLE JOURNEY” “A Little Journey,” which is the chief feature to-night at the Prince Edward Theatre, is a Metro- Gold wyn- Mayer picture, and was directed toy Robert Z. Leonard, whose “The Waiting Sex” was so much enjoyed. Leonard has taken a story, that of a rich girl, suddenly made poor, who accepts the proposal of a wealthy friend. She has no sooner boarded the train to make the trans-continental journey to meet him when she meets a good-looking yourjg man with whom she falls in love. Leonard has handled this story in a charming natural manner, bringing the story to a happy, yet logical ending.

Claire Windsor acquits herself excellently as Julie Rutherford, t h e girl in the case. William Haines, who became a sensation overnight with “Brown of Harvard,” is seen as George Manning, the wise - cracking young man with whom Julie falls in love. Haines is destined for the

heights of popularity, and this picture is another rung in his ladder. Harry Carey for the first time out of the “Westerns,” plays the role of a millionaire, and fits very well in his new guise, and Claire McDowell as usual contributes an excellent performance. BAND CONCERTS zoo and”town hall The Municipal Band plays at the Zoological Park to-morrow, Sunday, afternoon at 2.45. An interesting programme includes the “Maritana” selection. “Tancredi” overture, the “Petite Suite,” “Scene is Maoriland,” togther with splendid marches and popular hymn tunes. A changd programme to be given in the Town Hall on the same evening, and to which admission is free, will include some notable works. Among others the fine overture, “Nabucodonozer" (Verdi), the “Prelude” and “Christmas Scene” from Humperdinck’s “Miracle” play, a comprehensive selection from Gounod's “Faust,” together with instrumental solos and *>ther interesting items.
