PRICE OF PETROL RISES
WELLINGTON INCREASE AUCKLAND NOT AFFECTED (Special to THE SUN.J WELLINGTON, Friday. The price of petrol in Wellington and suburbs will be increased by 3d for the first gallon or part of a gallon from Monday. According to Mr. F. G. Farrell, president of the Auckland Motor Traders' Association, there is no indication of a *** m il a - r increase in Auckland. The reasons given by the petrol service proprietors for this ‘slight adjustment” are: .. Because service proprietors in :|J®. suburbs object to having to open their premises at night for customers wno require only from half a gallon to a gallon of petrol. <2) There is a great deal of leakage rom their petrol tanks, causing serious loss. <3) Too much petrol is given to customers when those working bowser Pumps have not time to let the amount pt petrol in the bowser, which may f n 1 ? 01 ** *ban the customer requires, a " back to the required level.
