BOOTMAKER’S RUSE

FORGED POSTAL RECEIPT Press Association. DUNEDIN, To-day. Leonard Harvey Jackson was charged at the Police Court this morning with having stated that he had posted a postal packet, whereas he had not done so, and with having forged the name to a receipt. The facts were that a pair of boots

were left with the accused for repairs. 30s being paid for them. Accused said that he had posted the boots and produced the butt of a parcels receip' It was afterwards discovered that th receipt was made out on a portion < a telegraph form. The accused pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
