LECTURE

BY REV. JAMES BARR j The Rev. James Barr will deliver I the first lecture of his New Zealand tour at the Remuera Library Hall tonight, July 29. Mr. Barr, who is a member of the British House of Commons, is widely famed for his oratorical skill, and he excels when his subjects are of Scottish interest- The subject he has chosen for this lecture is “Scotland in Story, Song, and Scen- , ery,” and this will afford him an opportunity of displaying the talents which have earned for him a world-wide reputation as a lecturer. Some ‘JO lantern slides illlustrative of the scenery and history of Scotland will be shown, and musical numbers will be rendered by Mrs. D. McLaren and Mr. W. Gemmell. Miss Lillian Braith waite. L.A.8.. is the accompanist. The lecture, which is being given under the auspices of the St. Andrew's Society, will be presided over by the president, Mr. J. Barr Patersom
