Mr c. C. Ross went South last evening by the Limited. Mr. J. R . Robertson left for Wellington last night on his way to neyprofessor Riddet returned to Auckland yesterday after a visit to Palmerston North. Mr. H. H. Sterling arrived in Auckland this morning by the Limited from the South. Mr. John Alexander, who has been visiting Wellington, returned to Auckland this morning. The Hon. R. F. Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs, and Mrs. Bollard, travelled on the Limited as far as {Yankton Junction this morning. The Hon. T. S. Weston, M.L.C., has been granted a further six weeks’ leave of absence from the Legislative Council through ill-health. Sir Truby King, of Wellington, who ar-ived in Auckland yesterday, will leave for New Plymouth to-night to attend the funeral of his brother, Mr. Newton King. Mr. H. L. James, until recently secretary of the Dunedin Jockey Club and Fortury Park Trotting Club, was presented by the latter with a gold watch last evening. Mr. William Norton, who is a native of Manchester, expects to visit his home town shortly. He is leaving by the Niagara on Tuesday on a business tour of the United States and Great Britain.
