ALL SQUARE THREE TIMES

A RATHER unusual position has arisen in connection with the captain’s tourney of the Auckland Golf Club. Last weekend for the third time in succession A. O. D. Boddington (7) and J. F. Brown (7) finished all square on the 18th green. This is one of the semi-finals of the competition and the present position is that until these two players settle their little argument the completion of the tourney is held up. The position is not without its entertaining side, and it is rumoured that the other semifinalists, who can see no end to the tourney this side of Christmas, are contemplating taking the matter to the 19th hole for a final settling up.
