RUGBY UNION AFFAIRS
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE At last night’s meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Union, Training College wrote requesting that it should play two separate matches with the senior University team instead of the next match counting double competition points. It was decided that the matter of a second match should be deferred. The University Club wrote agreeing to the next match between the two teams counting double points. It was agreed to grant the University Club permission to play its annual match with Victoria College, Wellington, as a curtain-raiser to the Auck-land-Wellington representative fixture on September 17. The applications of K. Wathan and R. Sterling for reinstatement were recommended to the New Zealand Union. The Broadcasting Company of New Zealand was granted permission to broadcast the representative match against South Canterbury on August 6. It was decided that the application to broadcast other representative matches should be dealt with weekly.
