The Riga correspondent of "The Times” says Soviet tribunals have taken a heavy toll of lives without trial in all parts of Russia in the past few days. The persons shot included six former officers In Turkestan, 20 persons at Kieff who were alleged to have belonged to monarchist organisations, 10 at Kursk, including Prince Tshakovski, three at Orel for opposing Soviet agents, of whom they had killed two, also eight persons at Kharkoff for engaging in anti-Com-munist propaganda. It is reported from the Ukraine that 100 anti-Bolsheviks have been shot in batches in the past fortnight. —Times.
