PRINCE EDWARD
In the encounter, the United States fleet consisted of the “Constitution,” two powder boats, three brigs and three gunboats, manned by 1,040 sailors and gunners. The Tripoli pirates, on the other hand, were 25,000 strong. Cruze filmed this battle, insofar as possible, as it actually took place, 125 years ago.
“THE CITY” May Allison plays one of the principal roles in Fox Films' version of “The City,” which will be shown for the last time to-night at the Prince Edward Theatre. Miss Allison has been wanting to
play straight drama for some time, and in the part of the clever Elinor Vorhees, the fiancee of the young attorney, she gets her wish. Walter McGrail and Robert Frazer share the honours in the male roles, McGrail characterising Hannock, the
dope addict, and Frazer playing the part of the young attorney who is seeking fame and fortune in the city. Nancy Nash, one of Fox Films’ latest and most promising finds, plays Cicely, the wilful youngest daughter of the Rands, whose foolish caprices bring the family to a realisation of their inability to cope with the city. Richard Walling, whose work in “The Midnight Kiss’ and “The Return of Peter Grimm” created a place for him in the front ranks of the juvenile brigade, Plays the boy. Others in the all-star cast are Bodil Rosing, George Irving, Lillian Elliott, Melbourne MacDowell, Fred Walton, Billie Baxter, Aileen Manning, and Jaques Rollens. R. William Neill directed the production.
