LEAVE OF ABSENCE GRAMMAR SCHOOLS BOARD Leave of absence was granted Mr. J. Drummond, headmaster of the Auckland Grammar School, by the board yesterday, Lintil the end of the term. The board agreed that if Mr. Drummond so desired, he would be granted leave until the opening of next school yearThe board received from the Minister of Education, the Hon. R. A. Wright, authority to negotiate for 10 acres to be the site for a new school. The Alinister recommended the Otahuhu district. In his letter, Mr. Wright expressed the opinion that Auckland Grammar School was much too big, and that the Alount Albert Grammar School was full. Reporting on the training of thirdyear student-teachers at the Epsom Grammar School, the headmistress said that the experiment had been fairly successful, and that the staff was willing to extend its assistance again.
