SOUTH AUCKLAND BOWLING CENTRE
RULES AMENDED FIFTEEN HUNDRED MEMBERS (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, To-day. The delegates to the South Auckland Bowling Centre adopted an amendment to the rules, the salient points of which are that power is given a delegate who cannot attend a meeting to appoint, in writing, a substitute. This, it is claimed, will give clubs at a distance an opportunity of better representation at delegates’ meetings than in the past. The annual meeting of the centre will be held the last week in June in future instead of January, while the secretary will be appointed at the annual meeting the same as other officers. Selectors will be appointed by delegates in future, and the executive of the centre will come from the ranks of the delegates. The executive was instructed to frame a clause dealing with defaulting members in the question of subscriptions. The resignations of Air. D. C. Anderson, vicepresident, and Air. A. Alontgomery, who are leaving the district, were received and Alessrs. R. X. Pilkington and Edgar James were appointed to fill the vacancies on the executive, while Air. D. G. i eredith was elected vice-president of the centre. The membership of the centre is now over 1,500, which makes it the second largest to Auckland in the Dominion. The centre tournament will be held in Hamilton in January. Delegates gave support to the Daylight Saving Bill. .j
