KURANUI. —The manager reports for the week ending July 23: The drive east on leader near Shotover shaft has been advanced 7ft. for ihe week, making a total of 19ft. At 16ft. a small break cains across and disturbed the leader, but it is now making into a nice body of ore again, and is encased in a much better class of country for gold. The rise on Hunt's his been advanced 6ft. for the w >ek, makini a total of 13ft.; the reef still maintains its size and looks very promising.

ALBURN I A.—The manager reports The crosscut west, heading toward the “Sons of Freedom” reef, has been extended from 240 ft. to 257 ft. We are still passing through a very hard class of

country. A little water is again showing in a few of the heads, and we are hoping that this may be an indication that we are nearing the western side of the bar. Stoping over the intermediate level on the foot wall branch has been continued. The reef has increased in size and is now showing an average width of 3Jft. in the back of the stope. It is a solid body of ore carrying a splendid class of mineral and encased in a good class of country rock. The reef now has not got as much underlie as that mentioned in last week's report.
