THE New Zealand cricketers were unlucky to be depriv:d by bad weather of an innings victory over Warwickshire, for their batting had been brilliant, their bowling steady, and their fielding keen. The New Zealanders were handicapped by a wet ball. Kilner was cut to the last ball of McGirr’s first ever after lunch. He batted for 100 minutes and hit eight 4’s. Parsons and Croom were quickly dismissed. Merritt followed up his earlier successes by bowling Calthorpe when the score was 175. i After 13 more runs had been scored, torrential rain came, and play had to be abandoned, the match being drawn.
