A CORNER FOR THE OWNER WHO WANTS TO j PUT SMALL JOBS RIGHT HIMSELF

HINTS BY “HEADLIGHT” A 1926 Dodge was hard to back, providing the emergency brake had previously been used. If the car had been parked at the curb the engine had to be speeded up considerably to back it out. And when the car moved something seemed to hold, then let go. If the emergency brake had been used when the car was stopped in the road, the trouble seemed to have disappeared upon starting forward. Sometimes when driving along something seemed to hold back, and upon one occasion did stop the car. This, of course, was brake trouble. When the rear wheels and hubs were removed one of the emergency brake linings was found to be torn loose and knotted. After a new linning was put on there was no more brake difficulty.
