THEFT AT PUTARURU
LENIENT VIEW TAKEN “SUFFERED SUFFICIENTLY” “In view of the physical injury the man has inflicted on himself, I do not feel disposed to impose further suffering upon him,” said Mr. Justice Stringer at the Supreme Court this morning.
It was stated that the accused, James C. Phillips, who had pleaded guilty to a charge of theft at Putaruru, had entirely lost the sight of one
eye. The accused was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon.
