WAITEMATA FACTORY
PROPOSED AMALGAMATION Mr. Copeland, managing director of the Waitemata Co-operative Dairy Company, and Mr. A. Nissen. representing the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, met a number of shareholders of the Waitemata company at the residences of Mr. A. Kerr-Taylor, Waikoukou Valley, and Mr. A. Burrell, Waimauku, on Monday afternoon. In introducing Mr. Nissen, Mr. Copeland said that although the Waitemata company was in a sound position and well able to carry on, amalgamation with the New Zealand Co-op. Dairy Company would be in the interests of the shareholders. In the event of an amalgamation, said Mr. Nissen, the Waitemata company would be kept running for the present and all shares in that company would be replaced by the full value of shares in the New Zealand company. The position will be fully explained and the vote of shareholders taken on the question at a general meeting of shareholders at Kumeu on Thursday.
