The new Public Safety Bill framed by the Irish Free State Government will be introduced in the Dail Eireann on Tuesday. It is a most drastic measure. The Bill provides that anyone who possesses firearms without a licence may be condemned to death or sentenced to imprisonment for life. Under other provisions seditious publications may be suppressed, newspapers will be forbidden to print iniormation from unlawful associations, the Civic Guards will be empowered to conduct searches or effect arrests without, warrants, and to detain suspected persons for three months.—A. and N.Z.
