The Prince of Wales and Prince George, accompanied by the Primo Minister, Mr. Baldwin, and Mrs. Bald win, sailed for Canada to-day by the Empress of Australia. One hundred thousand people thronged the quayside and cheered in farewell as the steamer departed froir Southampton. The two Princes stood on the upper decks and smiled thei acknowledgements'. Mr. Baldwin, who wrnre no hat. waved his pipe. The tugs and piloboats assembled in Southamptor Water were decorated with buntinj and their sirens screamed farewells a: the crew’s stood to attention on thei decks. The Empress of Australia was ga: with flowers, including 5,000 peonies which a Canadian, Mr. Ormiston Roy. had shipped in cold storage for use in decorating the staterooms of the Princes and Mr. Baldwin. The Prince of Wales and Prince George had received a quiet farewell at Waterloo. They had dined at the Palace on the previous evening. The Duke of York was present at tho station. A large crowd bade farewell to Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin. The combined parties number 30.—A. and N.Z.Sun.
