FIRE AT OHIWA

HOME IN ASHES A four-roomed house situated at Ohiwa was completely destroyed by fire on Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Gunther, the occupant*, retired at nine o’clock, and were awakened about 11 o’clock by smoke. They discovered that the kitchen was full of flames. Smoke compelled them to leave the house hastily. It is assumed that the fire was caused by logs left burning in the grate. Practically nothing was saved. The house was insured in the Standard Office for £3OO There was no insurance on the furniture.
