KING FUAD OF EGYPT
VISIT TO LANCASHIRE ( British Officiol Wireless. ) RUGBY. Thursday. The visit of King Fuad of Egypt to Lancashire ended to-day. King Fuad has been received with great cordiality everywhere. At Manchester University yesterday, where he was welcomed in an address read by one of a number of Egyptian students, he displayed particular interest in the work that is being done in research into matters affecting the technical problems of industry. The King later visited Manchester Royal Exchange, which is the largest in the world. Responding to the great welcome which was accorded to h*..i, he said cotton production was the principal source of the wealth of Egypt and of the prosperity of his people. With the co-operation of the Lancashire spinners and manufacturers his country would benefit materially, and both nations would mutually gain. —A. and N.Z.
