PAGEANT BALL
A BRILLIANT FUNCTION To herald the forthcoming New Zealand National Festival, the Pageant Bali to be held at the Town Hall on Thursday night next, promises to eclipse any previous local effort in this connection. The dancing will commence at 8 o’clock .with an Empire display to be presented by Miss Lilian O’Leary. From then on dancing to music supplied by the Regent Ballroom Band, specially augmented for the occasion, will be interspersed with performances by specially trained ballets. A spectacle based on Drury Lane productions entitled “The Feast of Flora” will be pr«?sented by Madame Edith Baird. A hundred trained dancers will take part in the spectacle, which with special lighting and costume effects should prove one of the most artistic displays of its kind yet seen in Auckland. A South Sea Island fantasy performed by 20 Samoan dancers will also be presented, and a number of other artistic and entertaining novelties. The grand pageant produced by Mr. Albert Goldie will te presented at about 10.30 p.m., when over 200 girls will appear in a brilliant ensemble. Dancing will then be continued until
