Major-General Sir Andrew Russell went South by the Limited last ingMr. E. C. Banks arrived in Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington. The Hon. W. J- Reakes, Director-General of Agriculture, travelled as far as Prankton Junction on the Limited from Wellington this morning. Major-General R. Young, C. 8., C.M.G., D. 5.0., G.O.C. New Zealand Forces, returned to Wellington last evening. Mr. R- E. Dowle, of Belmont, Takapuna, has been elected an associate of the Victoria Institute, or Philosophical Society of Great Britain. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Allsop, who left for England by the M a ram a yesterday. intend to be absent for about two years. They will tour Australia and South Africa. Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair Carruthers leave Auckland next Wednesday to take up residence in Wellington.
