Major-General Sir Andrew Russell went South by the Limited last ingMr. E. C. Banks arrived in Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington. The Hon. W. Stewart, M.L.C., arrived in Auckland from Wellington this morning. The Hon. G. J. Garland, M.L.C.. was a passenger on the Limited from Wellington this morning. Mr. J. A. Lee. M.P., and Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. W. Hartley, chief clerk, Auckland railways booking office, has returned after a holiday trip to the South Island. Dr. C. J- Reakes, Director-General of Agriculture, travelled as far as Prankton Junction on the Limited from Wellington this morning. Major-General R. Young, C. 8., C.M.G., D. 5.0., G.O.C. New Zealand Forces, returned to Wellington last evening. Mr. R- E. Dowle, of Belmont, Takapuna, has been elected an associate of the Victoria Institute, or Philosophical Society of Great Britain. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Allsop, who left for England by the M a ram a yesterday. intend to be absent for about two years. They will tour Australia and South Africa. Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair Carruthers leave Auckland next Wednesday to take up residence in Wellington.
