ARMY STORM STOPS PLAY By Cable. — Press Association.—Copyright VEW ZEALAND, in its first innings against the Army eleven at Folkestone, made 184 runs Play had to be abandoned on Thursday, and yesterday it had barely commenced when a final abandonment was caused by a storm, when the Army team had five wickets down for 179. Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Friday. The morning was brilliant, but after only half an hour’s play a thunderstorm deluged the ground, and the match had to be abandoned. Continuing the Army eleven’s first innings, E. Williams played most attractive cricket. His innings lasted two and a-half hours. Among his hits were two sixes and six fours.
