THE PRIZE LIST
Th© District Courts, the grading competition, and a few miscellaneous classes were judged late yesterday. POVERTY BAY WINS Poverty Bay district court carried off the prize for that competition. It was the Bay’s first entry, and a very magnificent one containing a very rich exhibition of varied wealth. The maximum points possible were 500. Thames and Franklin led the dairying displays. The points allotted were:Poverty Bay, 399; Onehunga-Manukau, 368; Franklin, 354; Thames-Hauraki, 316; Te Kuiti, 177; Taumarunui, 177. BUTTER AND CHEESE There was a large field of 100 entrants from all over New Zealand in the grading competitions held in the grading stores yesterday. A very high proficiency was shown. Madson, Te Pol, 97 points, 2; H. F. Christianson, Fast Taniaki, A. Board, East Tamaki and W. Beattie, Pungarehu, each 96 points, equal, 3. Auckland Winter Show butter grading competition for factory employees other than managers.—P. Brown, Clevedon, 98j points, 1; D. J. Barry, Clevedon, 96i points, 2; T. C. Workman, Waiuku, 96 points, 3. ~ Auckland Winter Show cheese grading competition, for factory employees other than managers.—S. Dumbleton, Te Aroha, 97 points. 1; W. D. Beagley, East Tamaki, and W. A. McDonald, Owane, points, equal, 2: D. Knight, East Tamaki, 96 points, 3. DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOLS There were three competitors in the district high schools competition, and thev were placed by the judges:—Kowhai .Junior High School. L; Pukekohe Technical. 2; and Helensville District High 3. Non-competitive exhibits were entered by the Diocesan High School, Helensville Manuat School, and the Purerua School. Bay of Islands. FARM BUTTER Good entries were received tor farm butter and in two classes judged prizes were awarded as follow:- , Pound of butter, unsalted.—-Mrs. p. Fletcher. Papatoetoe, 1; Mrs. A.
