PRINCE EDWARD
“WINNERS OF WILDERNESS” Tim McCoy, Metro-Goldwyn’s new star, is featured in “Winners of the Wilderness,” now being screened at the Prince Edward. McCoy interprets a rather complicated role of warrior extraordinary and lover do luxe. In fact, his role calls for a wider range of acting ability than usually falls to the lot of a single character in a picture. But to McCoy does not go all the honours. He must share them with Joan Crawford, beautiful and artistic leading woman, and a supporting cast containing such film celebrities as Roy D’Arcy, Crown Prince of “The Merry Widow,” Louise Lorraine, Tom O’Brien, Frank Currier, Edward Connelly. Lionel Belmore, and a number of lesser known but sterling white and Indian character actors. The story is laid against a background of battle for supremacy between French and English for the great wilderness country of America in the middle of the eighteenth century. One of the great historical high spots is the massacre of General Braddock’s splendid legions during the ill-fated march on Fort Duquesne.
