It is an established fact that the quality of the wines is constantly improving, for it is the ambition of Corbans to see the day when New Zealand wines can more than hold their own with any in the world. This is rapidly approaching, for Corban’s wines, in open competition against the ■world, and judged in Adelaide. South Australia, were awarded first and second orders of merit, as well as the only gold medal awarded to a New Zealand firm in the contest. ORDERS TAKEN Orders for cases of 12 bottles can be made at the stall at the Winter Show. Varieties are on sale to suit every taste. The following are the prices for cases of one dozen quart bottles: Special reserve port, 60s; invalid port, 425; Number 10 port, 3Gs: old Tawny, 545; extra special sherry. 60s; sherry, 48s; red, 4Ss; claret, 425; Madeira, 545. Special quotations for bulk will be given on request. Assortments will be made up to order at the above prices. In view of the foregoing comments it may well be asked why some people should buy the imported article when the product of the Mount Lebanon vineyards is recognised by discriminating connoisseurs to be indisputably the highest quality wine. A purchase is well worth while, even if onl3 to demonstrate that in the vineyards around Henderson, Auckland, wines are grown that can take their place with the best anywhere.
