CAR HITS TRAMPOLE

EXTENSIVE DAMAGE Through striking a tramway centrepole in Symonds Street a little below Grafton Road at about 11.40 last night, a five-seater motor-car, driven by Mrs. C. Coleman, of Walpole Street, Onehunga, was badly damaged. The car was being driven up Symonds Street when it struck the pole head-on, bending the bumper almost completely round the pole, damaging the engine and front axle and breaking the steering-wheel and windscreen. Both Mrs. Coleman and her companion were badly shaken, but after being attended to, were able to proceed home.
