PRINCE EDWARD

“WINNERS OF WILDERNESS” Stirring - days of the French and Red Indan wars, when the English colonies were menaced by the French and their savage, naked allies, form the colourful background to a romantic adventure story in “Winners of the Wilderness,” coming to the Prince Edward Theatre to-night. The story is a fascinating blending of historic incidents and romance, and stars Tim McCoy, the new romantic outdoor star, and Joan Crawford, who appears as the lovely daughter of the commandant of a frontier fort. The cast introduces several famous figures of that period, including George Washington, as a young major in the service of the British Crown, Captains Gage and Gates, the former a noted soldier, and the latter destined to become a famous national patriot. “Winners of the Wilderness” is unusually interesting and entertaining. In his second screen appearance Tim McCoy reveals even greater charm and talent than in “War Paint,” his first picture, and promises to rival both great actors and great athletes. The picture was directed by W. S. I Van Dyke, and also in its cast are Edward Connelly. Frank Currier, Louise Lorraine, Tom O’Brien, and Roy D’Arcy. In addition to other films, the Prince j Edward management will stage a large ! vaudeville programme this evening.
