For New Zealand time add 15 hours in each case. NOTES A private cable from Australia states that Mrs. Sandford, of Auckland, who, with one companion, Miss Christie, has made several journeys through the wilds of the continent, will speak from station 3LO Melbourne to-night. She is to begin her address at about 10.13 New Zealand time, and will probably give an account of her experiences on her last .journey across Australia and back. The programme to be broadcast from station 4QG to-night is to consist of a play specially written for radio transmission by Michael Croger. It is a domestic comedy treating incidents which might have happened in any well regulated family. Although not primarily a musical comedy, it contains several vocal numbers, these being sung by Erich John’s Radio Vocalists. The play is being produced by the author. The new Wellington station 2YA is again on the air to-night with another high-class transmission. It is unfortunate that there have been so many silent nights this week, but that was unavoidable with a new station. It is stated officially that from next week a full programme can be expected, although there will be one silent night as with all other New Zealand stations. IYA announces that the overture to “Zampa” played by the Majestic orchestra, now under the direction of Mr. J. W. Waugh, is to be relayed to-night, commencing at about 7.50.
