A shooting affray in a boardinghouse at South Yarra resulted in the death of Mabel James, aged 22, a waitress, and Ronald Leet, aged 25. It is believed that the shooting was done by Leet, jealousy being the cause, as he was a former lover of Miss James. They recently quarrelled. Mrs. Wood, who rushed to the scene, was wounded and sent to hospital in a serious condition.—A. and N.Z.
