AUCKLAND EXECUTIVE MEETS

WELLINGTON MATCH ABANDONED JUNIOR CHALLENGE CUP The Management Committee of the Auckland Hockey Association met last evening. Mr. Playle presided. Mr. Ellison, the junior selector, was granted permission to play an A and B trial match on Saturday. The New Zealand Association advised that the match against Wellington had been abandoned, owing to the departure of the New Zealand team on Friday afternoon. Auckland, the present holders of the Junior Challenge Cup, has been challenged by the Canterbury Association. The match will be played at Remuera on August 6. A letter was received from the Areta Hockey Club asking the association to reconsider its decision, disqualifying Rykers for the rest of the season. After consideration, the association endorsed the action already taken.
