TAKAPUNA TENNIS CLUB’S MEETING
YEAR’S WORK REVIEWED
At the annual meeting of the Takapuna Tennis Club, the president, Mr. J. F. Colegrove, presided over a fair attendance of members.
The annual showed that the club had maintained its membership, and that during the season just concluded under the severance scheme the club had acquired one extra court so that it now has six grass courts.
Special reference was made to the work of the ladies in raising funds for the club by means of bridge evenings, with a result that the club is now in the happy position of owning freehold of its playing area, subject only to one small mortgage and a small bank overdraft, which it is confidently anticipated will be wiped off during the coming season.
Officers of the club were elected as follows: —President, Mr. J. F. Colegrove; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. H. G. Mason; committee, Messrs. Parker. Whittaker, Taylor and Bartrum. and Mrs. Howe and Miss B. O’Neill; delegates to A.L.T.A., Messrs. Bartrum and Mason.
With the increase fin playing area the club has room for new players, and it is in a position to offer to visitors to the district exceptional opportunities for play during the season. New members are cordially welcomed.
