OFFICIAL QUOTATIONS C iider date July 15, the London office of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board cabled the following resume of the London market:— BUTTER New Zealand: Salted, 158 s to 160 s, exceptional to 162 s per cwt. (160 s to 1625)unsalted, 160 s to 164 s (165 s to 170 s). Market quiet. Australian: Finest salted, 15Ss to 160 s (168 sto 1625); unsalted, 160 s to 164 s (162 s to 164s)'. Argentine: Finest salted, 160 s to 164 s (360 s to 1645). Irish creamery: Salted. 148 s to 350 s (152 to 1545); unsalted, 152 sto 160 s (156 s to 158 s). Dutch: Unsalted, 154 s to 15Ss (156 s to 160 s). Esthonian: 146 s to 154 s (148 s to 1525) Latvian: 146 s to 152 s (144 s to 1525). Lithuanian: 144 s to 146 s (144 s to 1465). Siberian: 140 s to 144 s (142 s to 1465). Danish: 160 s to 162 s (160 s to 1625). Irish and Continental butters are slow of sale. Retail prices: New Zealand and Danish, Is 7d. In many instances in the North Danish is retailing at Is 6d. The total butter imports into England in June established a record, namelv, 34,000 tons, increase being mostly Danish, Dutch and Irish. Consumption, however, is very good, fully 6,000 tons weekly. Constant wet weather which has prevailed for some time has been an important factor in high production of Danish. Imports are still large, but showing signs of decrease. Consider consumption with falling imports will ultimately raise market, but in the meantime abnormal production will defer rise and probably lower ultimate peak point. CHEESE New Zealand white and coloured. S7s to SSs (84s to 86s). Market steady. coloured, 82s to S4s (83s to Canadian old season: White 106 sto 108 s (102 s to 104 s); coloured! 96s to 100 (100 s). Canadian new season is now quoting 84s, c.i.f. Still little business passing. English: Finest farmers, 106 s to 112 s (100 s to 106 s). Retail prices unchanged. The board has also received the following advice from its agents in Canada: Butter: New York, 42 cents (Is 9d); Montreal, 34i cents (Is 51d); San Francisco, 41 cents (Is Sid). Cheese: Montreal, 181 cents (9 l-8d).
