A SUGGESTION
A PROMINENT musician in Auckland mentioned that in Auckland we have two men unique in musical circles in New Zealand Mr. Christopher Smith, of the Municipal Band, and Mr. Guttridge, of the New Regent Theatre—the former we hear, would the latter be possible too? Don’t forget a valve per week for the best amateur tip sent in. Address to the Radio Editor, THE SUN. by THE SUN in suggesting that it would be an improvement in the wave lengths if Christchurch and Auckland were interchanged. Christchurch has no powerful valve station in its immediate vicinity, and would not suffer this interference. LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS The quality of the programmes at IY'A has been greatly improved, and is meeting with universal appreciation. The relay of 2YA was well carried out, and it was most interesting to hear the same item note by note coming from 2FC, Sydney, and IYA by relay and direct from Wellington. FAREWELL TO UNCLE JACK The A.L.L. gave a farewell to Mr. J. M. Prentice on behalf of the children whom he has so often spoken to as ITncle Jack. The big Town Hall was packed to capacity, and the occasion was a very happy one. The A.L.L. has every cause to congratulate itself
