If you bring your Lieutenant into the mystic circle I shall fare forth down the path of sweet sounds and return with a very pretty pen-name. Rising Torrent: VerJ’ many thanks for your clever sketch, which I shall keep as a reminder of that stirring incident. You dip in the Indian ink-well to some purpose. Blue-fringed Moccasin: I was delighted to have your letter, written in the true spirit of the Wigwam, and I trust that the trail will long know your footprints. It is a pleasure to admit you into our magic circle. Wanika: The hand of good-fellow-ship to this new Guide-Brave, who has seen from the distance the gleam of our friendly fires. I hope your visits to the Wigwam will be many and often. Silver Heel: Many thanks for your charming letter with its message from the Brook of Whispering Voices. Thank you also for calling a new Brave from the far trails. I think she will find the Wigwam a place of increasing interest. Crested Wave: I was so glad to have your letter and have made the necessary alteration on the Totem Pole. It seemed such a fanciful name and I did not realise the mistake. However, the mystery is now solved, isn’t it? All good wishes. Little White Bird: Greetings and welcome to this newcomer, who has fluttered safely into the Wigwam. I am delighted that you have come permanently into the happy atmosphere and trust you will never stray far on the long trails. Glistening Water: Very many thanks* for your letter and your fine piece of descriptive work, which you will find in the Guides’ Corner. There is a competition for a short story running at present and I hope you intend entering for that. Raven Wing: I was delighted to have your letter and shall be looking forward with interest to your competition entries. My Chiefs and Braves are having a busy time with their studies just now, but they do not forget the Wigwam. I hope you will be a frequent visitor to our friendly circle. Red Leaf: I was most interested in your account of the broadcasting and should greatly enjoy a trip with those uncles. They must be exceedingly popular with the little folk, who must feel like passengers on the magic journeyings. I hope you will find time to write that proposed story. Big Canoe Carver: Many thanks for your delightful letter. The arrows of that warlike Chief can never harm you now that you belong to the Wigwam. They will always fall short of

their mark. My regards to you and your fellow craftsman. Great Paddle Maker. Little Buffalo: I hope you saw your essay in the last Wigwam page. Night Heron declares that he noticed you “ambling” down the trail. This is rather a doubtful compliment to a student of modern dancing. Please protest. Red Star: Greetings, little steadfast one. I know your writing as well as the palm of my own hand, for you are the one who never loses sight of the trail to the Wigwam. I shall be eagerly looking forward to those competition entries. Instead of bristling with frost, the Wigwam resounds to the musical patter of the rain. Which do you prefer? Big B rown Bear: Many thanks for your letter and contribution. lam very sorry to hear that you are ill again and that it has resulted in that added misfortune, but I trust that matters will soon right themselves and the sun shine again for Big Brown Bear. Every good wish from the Wigwam. Dancing Blue Water: Many thanks for your charming letter. I thought I would soon catch the gleam of Dancing Blue Water if I glanced down the trail. Your hobby is one of unfailing interest. I, too, have a weakness for hoarding things. Eagle Feather: Once again the hand of goodfellowship under the Totem Pole. My best wishes to Blue Morning and Little Silver Crescent when you encounter them on the trail. Red Eagle: A warm welcome to this new Brave. 1 am delighted that you have become a member of our large and happy family, and was most interested in your letter. I trust you will be a very frequent visitor to the Wigwam Night Heron: Many thanks for your friendly letter an dthe description of the scene glimpsed from your canoe as you paddled across the Lake of Many Waters. You seem keenly interested in the Wigwam. All good wishes. Flying Cloud : Your letter has brought the essence of spring to the Wigwam. 1 can even see that sunbeam eluding the dark battalions of cloud and stealing earthward to make some corner happy. I think the violets will soon be peering out from under their glistening leaves again. Silver Ripple: Very many thanks for your letter. I was very sorry that you were unable to call on me that day. but hope I shall soon meet you. Congatulations on winning the Child Nurse Badge. I am overjoyed to hear of all these successes. YVould you please thank your mother for her report of the social? It was very kind of her to send it in. Is Grey Wolf recovering? He has been having a most unfortunate time. Please give him the Great Chief’s greetings.
