The suggestion was made by the Hon. D. Buddo (Kaiapoi), who stated that the failure to discover the offender had caused considerable anxiety in his district. The position had reached the stale-mate stage, and residents were anxious that something special should be done. The Minister replied that the offer of the reward had been published not more than 10 days ago, hut the question would be considered.
