Mr. A. S. Bankart left by train for ■Wellington yesterday evening. The Hon. \V. H. Triggs, M.L.C., was a passenger for Wellington by the Limited last evening. The Hon. G. Fowlds left for the South by the Limited last evening. Dr. Campbell Begg arrived in Auckland yesterday by the liaunganui from Vancouver. Mr. E. C. Brown returned to Auckland from the South by the Limited this morning. Dr W. Gunn, who has been on a business trip to Sydney, returned to Auckland this morning by the Marama. Mr. H. McCoy, who has been visiting Sydney, returned to Auckland this morning in the Marama. Mr. F. Diddams returned to Auckland this morning by the Marama from Sydney. Mr. and Mrs. J. McD. Scott, of Waipukurau, Hawke’s Bay, are at present on a visit to Auckland. Mr. H. Cramer-Roberts returned to Auckland this morning by the Marama. He has been on a visit to Rhodesia on business. Mr. F. E. Fay, who is attached to the operating and equipment department of the New Zealand railways, arrived from Wellington this morning. Mr. A. Harris, M.P., Mr. FI. G. R. Mason. M.P., and Mr. W. D. Lysnar, M.P., left for Wellington last evening. Mr. and Mrs. E. King, of Kaitaia, who have been visiting Hawke’s Bay and spent a few days in Auckland, returned North yesterday. Mr. Reuben E. Downe, of Takapuna, has been made an associate of the Victoria Institute, London, the Philisophical Society of Great Britain. Mr. D. C. Coote. inspector of the Bank of New Zealand, and Mrs. Coote returned from a visit to Samoa by the Maunganui yesterday. Mr. M. 11. Wynyard, motorists’ representative on the Main Higlvvt ays Board, left for Wellington by tram last night. Mr James Robertson, of Auckland, who has been on a visit to the United States and Canada, returned by the Maunganui yesterday. The Rev. Palgrave Davy, of Auckland, returned yesterday by the Maunganui after spending a holiday in California. Mr. Edward Anderson left for Wellington yesterday evening to Join the Tahiti for a six-weeks’ holiday in the Islands. The Hon. Edward Grayndler, M.L.C., is a passenger on the Maunganui. Fie has been to America on the Industrial Commission representing the workers, and is returning to Australia. Mr. J. W. Hayden, chairman of the Vaitemata Power Board, and Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, chairman of the Auckland Power Board, went South by train last night. They are to attend a conference of power board representatives at Wellington. Sir James and Lady Gunson have Just completed a tour of the South of England, and are now motoring northwards. They intend to visit Ireland, leaving in October for a trip on the Continent during the winter. They will probably return to London in May next year. Messrs. E. C. Rutledge, New Zealand manager Fox Film Corporation, DLeys, assistant manager, and L. Brown, publicity manager, will leave for Sydney by the Maunganui from Auckland to-morrow to attend Fox Films’ annual convention. They expect to be absent about two weeks.
