WORK OF Y.M.C.A.

MEETING OF DIRECTORS A total membership of 1.740 was reported at a meeting of directors of the Young Men’s Christian Association lan evening. Mr. W. E. Bush presided. The Big-Brother movement in cooperation with the Child Welfare department, the community report stated was doing very effective work. The boys’ hostel was progressing satisfactorily under the management of Miss E. Richards. Many activities were being carried out in the young men’s division The house report stated that the residential section was self-supporting. The attendance at the gymnasium now totalled 241. A small branch of the Y.M.C.A. at Birkdale had been reorganised. The religious work report showed that 36 Bible study groups were in operation.

New members elected number 148. the total membership of the association now being 1,740.
