The other team is: Jackson, captain (Derbyshire), Holmes (Oxford University), Sandham, Hearne, Geary, Hendren, Holmes (Yorkshire), Aimes, wicket-keeper (Kent), Bates (Warwickshire), Nichols (Essex), Clark (Northampton) . Chapman was invited to play, but could not accept. Colonel Philip Trevor regrets the non-inclusion of Stevens, and says that England also needs a slow lefthand bowler.
