The first round of the Waitemata Golf Club's championships was played on Saturday. The results were:—Layzell beat Porter, 4 up and 2; Baxter beat B. Jack?on, 2 up and 1; Hogan beat G. Spencer. 82; Chapman, S 6. Pavitt. 89. EVERSLIE CLUB The match for the captain’s trophy was Played on Saturday and was won by J. O’Neili, with a net score of 85, P. Hogan being second with a net score of 86. An inter-club match was played on the McLennan beat Miss Little, 2 and 1; Miss M. Walters lost to Mrs. Lever. 2 down; Lverslie links last Saturday between the Kverslie Ladies’ Golf Club and the Papakura Ladles' Golf Club, and resulted m a win Tor the Papakura ladies. Results as follow. Papakura ladies mentioned first. Miss White beat Miss Walker. 1 up; Miss Miss Rhind lost to Miss B. Cosgrave, 1 down; Miss Wood beat Mrs. Bilkey, 1 ¥ rs - Goddard beat Miss M. Smith, 9 7; Miss Wilkins beat Miss M. Clark, and 7; Mrs. Busing beat Mrs. Warden, I and 5; Mrs. Pavitt beat Miss O’Neill, 9 Mrs. Foote beat Mrs. Richardson, *0 and 7.
