JASPER AT PAPATOETOE
FUNKS FOR WORKERS That the hall in Papatoetoe is not spacious enough to meet the growing needs of tlie district was again exemplified last night, when the Rev. Jasper Calder and his bright party of entertainers gave an entertainment to raise funds in aid of unemployed relief. There was a capacity house, and the artists’ efforts met with the entire approval of the audience. After the overture the full company opened the entertainment with a rollicking chorus of parodies on wellknown songs, sung by 20 mixed voices, and for the rest of the evening there was not one dull moment. During the entertainment Air. Calder expressed his sincerest thank* to all those who had attended to help make the function a success, and intimated that his fund would receive a well-deserved fillip in consequence of their visit to Papatoetoe.
