TE PAPAPA BOWLERS’ ANNUAL MEETING
A SUCCESSFUL YEAR At the annual meeting of the Te P;ipapa Club there was a good attendance. The president, Mr. R. G. Speight, occupied the chair. The report and balance sheet showed the club to be in a highly satisfactory financial position, this being the result of the co-operation of members in carrying out several important works in connection with the green and thus saving considerable expense. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron. W. J. Jordan, Esq., M.P.; president, R. G. Speight; vicepresidents, \V. C. Coldicutt, Esq., Mayor of Onehunga, W. J. Cowell, W. Miller, 11. T. Gibson; general committee, Messrs. C. Simpson, T. G. Harriman, \\\ Allcock, C. H. Bridge, E. Marks, E. W. Caddy, H. Dawson; match committee, Messrs. C. H. Bridge (convener). F. W. Thursby, H. Dawson; ground committee, Messrs. W. Hume, i\ Simpson, T. G. Harriman; secretary and treasurer, F. H. Whitehead; auditor, H. Dawson; delegate to centre, Mr. R. G. Speight.
During the evening Mr. C. Simpson was presented with a gold medal donated by the president for champion first year singles. Eight new members were elected at the meeting and a vote of thanks was passed to all who had assisted in any way in making the club a success. A special vote of thanks was passed to the lady friends of the club for ably assisting at the social functions held.
