FATE OF HOBSON BAY

MEETING OF PROTEST The meeting of protest against the industrialisation of Hobson Bay will be held at the Chamber of Commerce on Friday evening, July 22, at 8 o’clock. A notice has been sent out regarding the meeting. It is signed by Sir James Coates, the Hon. George Fowlds and Messrs. Charles Rhodes and G. H. Wilson. Many prominent citizens have concerned themselves with the meeting of protest against turning Hobson Bay into a commercial ar a. The original plan was to reclaim the bay and transform it into a park, with playing areas and an artificial lake. Engineers reported on the scheme, but their report did not favour the beautifying of the bay.
