MILLIONAIRE GAMBLER’S DEBTS FRIENDS LIABLE FOR £600,000 By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 9.20 a.m. LONDON, Sunday. ‘The Standard” says: “The liabilities of James White, the financier who committed suicide, are estimated at £140,000, representing personal liabilities, and stocks and shares (which mainly were connected with his final unavailing gamble), valued at £470,000. It is believed that friends who joined in the gamble are liable for £600,000. —Sun.
