BOOKMAKING CHARGES

TWO MEN IN COURT McDEV ITT, aged 37, and Charles Philpot, aged 72, were charged at the Police Court this morning before Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., with carrying on businesses as bookmakers in Auckland. On the application of their solicitor, Mr. Bryce Hart, accused were remanded to appear on July 20. Bail was fixed at £IOO in each case.
